A tragédia da doença – bases fenomenológicas da medicina narrativa

Abstract

This essay aims to expose the pathological state as a reconfiguration of our being-in-the-world, through a phenomenological approach to the process of getting ill and an appropriation of the concept of Unheimlichkeit ("the uncanny") (Freud, 1925, Heidegger 2012 and SVENAEUS, 1999). The immediate consequences of this approach are an alternative apprehension of the facticity of the "world-of life" and the possibility of a reinterpretation of the signification structure in.which we operate. Such a condition allows the patient, through the production of narratives about his/her morbid state, to create other "worlds "and produce redeemed "Selves ". For the health professionals, to whom such existential experiences converge, the so-configured narratives do not represent a simple collection of data or a better way of embracing the patients before them. Rather, these health professionals 'careful auscultation and their discursive intervention are themselves a Therapy.
